Biography
Harkanwal Singh Thind was born in Punjab, India and immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1977. He has resided in Peel region since 1985, when he and his family moved from Vancouver, British Columbia.
Thind is a holder of a Masters degree in History and Business Administration. He has used his education and skills to become a successful entrepreneur. He has formerly been the owner of an import/export business where he had the opportunity to travel and interact with other entrepreneurs from all around the world. He is currently the Broker of Record/Owner of RE/MAX Leaders Realty Ltd., managing over 65 independent contractors. With over twenty years of experience working in the real estate industry, he is an active member of the Toronto Real Estate Board and served as a member of the Toronto Real Estate Board’s Arbitration Committee from June 2007 to May 2009.
Thind is actively seeking to better himself and those that work in his field of real estate through a variety of programs. He is a Certified Mentor for Real Estate by Brian Buffini’s 100 Days to Greatness program and for Richard Robbin’s Master’s Edge Program. In addition, Thind teaches information sessions for salespeople outlining how one can become a successful professional in the real estate industry.
Thind is also a member of many community organizations including The Brampton Board of Trade, Indo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Red Cross and Sikh Sports Club. He is also a founding member of the Punjabi Market Association in Vancouver, BC where he was a successful entrepreneur in the retail sales industry. Thind has engaged in many social and community events over the years, in an attempt to make this community better.
He has been married to Swaran Thind for 27 years and they have three children: Daughters, Harmanjeet and Manmeet and a son, Sukhvail.
In his spare time, Thind enjoys the game of golf, spending time with family and friends and keeping up with his passion for political life through active participation as a citizen and volunteer in all tiers of government.
